This easy-to-make granola is so much tastier than store bought granola and costs a fraction of the price. The sweetness of the brown sugar is accented with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg to help you start your morning off right.
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- 4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- ½ cup chopped almonds
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Mix oats, sugar, nuts, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a large bowl.
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter
- In a large microwave safe measuring cup, melt butter on high, about 1 minute.
- ½ cup honey
- Pour honey into measuring cup with melted butter and stir to combine. Pour into bowl with oats and sugar.
- Transfer mixture onto a rimmed baking sheet or a 9x13 baking dish. Bake at 325°F until toasted and golden brown, about 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
- ½ cup raisins
- ½ cup golden raisins
- Once cool, break up any large pieces and transfer to a large container with an airtight lid. Add raisins and stir to combine.
